About us:

Welcome to Sheffield Central Property Rentals (SCPR). We are a locally based family concern specialising in letting good quality shared houses to groups of up to 5 students. All the accommodation meets the standards required by Sheffield Hallam and Sheffield Universities.

Where is the accommodation?

All the properties are situated in recognised student areas close to the city centre and the popular social area of Eccleshall Road. There are numerous other shared houses., flats and bed-sits occupied by students nearby. The accommodation is conveniently placed for students of Sheffield Hallam University and Sheffield University (being particularly close to a number of Hallam University sites). Walking times to the city and main campus sites varies between 10 and 15 minutes.

Public transport:

The houses are situated close to main arterial roads into the city. Regular bus services (every 2/3 minutes) run along these routes to all the main destinations within the city centre. Journey times are approximately 5 minutes.

The Properties:

Each house contains up to 5 lockable study bedrooms, a fully fitted kitchen; bathroom with shower and toilet, a telephone point and safety features. See next page for details of the contents of the properties.

Tenancy Conditions and Financial Arrangements

The contract:

The lettings are on Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreements for agreed periods (not less than 6 months). The usual arrangement is for 10 month contracts for the academic year starting at the beginning of September and finishing at the end of the following June. Longer contracts can be arranged by mutual agreement. Most accommodation is let early in the year and it is usual in these instances for a half rent retainer to be paid for the summer (July and August) period.

Financial arrangements:

A returnable deposit of one months rent is payable on signing the Tenancy Agreement. This is currently £170 (which equates to approximately £39.20p per week). Rent can be paid by a mutually agreed method - usually either monthly by standing order, cheque or cash; or periodically to coincide with grant payments (usually October, January and April).
